To overcome Africa’s food crisis a sustained, dramatic increase of the local farming production capacity are one of the main prerequisites. As a consequence One Acre Fund an operating NGO in Africa developed a business model by investing in farm families to strengthen their operating farming capabilities and capacities in a sustainable way. Although these investments benefit from climate related agro insurance products coverage gaps still remains; leaving One Acre Fund's investment portfolio partially unprotected . Therefore sfr-consulting developed an innovative credit risk insurance solution which provides the company a comprehensive protection to pursue and support the envisaged expansion strategy by serving more than 1 million families in Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Burundi, Tanzania, Malawi, and Uganda by the end of the decade.
